Mailbox Post Kit Assembly Instructions

New Englander, Dualie, Gardener and Elegant MBP kits
- Note: Most assembly should be completed before setting the post in the hole.
- On the main post locate the pre-drilled dowel pin holes for the crossarms.
- Place dowel pins in crossarm holes. Crossarms will face front (street) and back (residence).
- (If you have the dualie MBP the holes should face left and right as viewed from the street)
- Attach crossarms: long on front, short on back (Dualie equal size side-to-side).
- Using pre-drilled pilot holes apply glue then screw the cross-arms to the post.
- Attach curved support brace to front of post (Dualie on the sides).
- Using pre-drilled pilot holes apply glue then screw curved support brace(s) to the post.
- Attach mailbox mounting plate.
- If you purchased a base, slide it on to the bottom of the post (base sits at ground level).
- Dig post hole minimum of 24” deep (up to 30” deep) and twice as wide as the post.
- Add gravel or crushed stone in the bottom of the hole.
- Set the assembly in the hole (base will sit at ground level).
- Backfill around the post with more gravel. This allows water to drain away.
- Apply a bead of caulk around top of post base to prevent water from collecting between.
- Screw and glue post cap down.
